I see this online a LOT. Some days it makes me grin, other times it makes me growl. *sigh* I will do my level best to NOT rant and rave here. *blush*
I think the idea behind this statement from many, both psychics and others, is that if the gift is freely received than it should be freely shared. Not a concept I am against by any means. The trouble I have with this is simply who says it’s a “gift”?
A gift implies that whatever you’re speaking of was granted to you with no effort being needed on your part. This is NOT the case with ANY legitimate or credible psychic I have ever met. The ‘sight’, the raw talent to ‘see’ things differently is inherent in all humans, same as the ability to run a quarter mile or work with numbers. We can all do that. Some of us have trained and worked hard to develop those raw skills to a point where they have become of great service to others. Myself, I can’t run around the block without getting winded, and I’m hopeless with numbers. I consider those that can do these things to be highly gifted. Does that mean that my accountant should do my taxes for free because this is a gift to her from God, and she has no right to charge me for that?
I realize that I’m ranting, and I’m not sorry. LOL
I myself do not consider what I can do to be a gift. It is a tool that I was born with that I am to use to help others. That is my ‘purpose’ in this journey, and I say it that way because that is what I am happiest doing. That is what I find fulfillment in. My talents were pre-born to an extent, and I have spent many years training and ‘honing’ them so that they are useful. I’m being very honest and blunt here! Seeing things that others don’t and feeling all the emotions going on around you is NOT a gift. When I was a child it was my curse. *sigh* I spent many years learning how to NOT see things and feel things. And I’ve spent many years learning how to see and feel things WHEN IT’S USEFUL for me to do so. Notice the difference there.
I know there are many “light workers” out there that are only in this for the money. I’m not one of them. Least I like to think I’m not. I don’t charge $750 for a 40 min. reading. I think that’s nuts. But then again, I don’t care how good an accountant is, I wouldn’t pay $750 to get my taxes done. Free will dictates – To each their own. The ones that are in this ONLY for money make it hard for everyone. And I appreciate that many have gotten burned and taken for a ride. Heck, when I started doing this professionally, years ago, I signed up for a phone service that provided me with a “tarot reading program” and a list of reference books. I was never’tested”; I was told what buttons to push and to get a deck of playing cards so the clients would ‘think” I was actually reading cards. *shudder* Guess how long I worked with that company. Ggrrrrrr
I’m not attacking here; I just want those who feel this way to take a serious look at this. Seeing things the way we do, reaching out and touching other’s feelings and energies the way we need to in order to do this, can be VERY unpleasant and difficult at times. A GOOD psychic is one who sees what others don’t and is also a talented counsellor. A confidant, not a “buddy”. We aren’t here to be your best friend, and like in any counselling situation if that line gets crossed we are no longer effective to you as a professional. Bear that in mind.
I will post a list of does and do nots for readings and readers. I hope you find them useful.
Thus ends my rant of the week. LOL
Sorry if it offends, but I needed to say it.
